Disease Analysis and Prognosis
This is our specialty. If you have a tree that does not look good, give us a call and we will give you answers. Christian loves to look through his microscope and find answers to all your critter, algae, fungus and bacterial questions.

Trimming and Pruning
Improperly pruned trees are a common site.  It results in significant damage to trees over time at which point we are called in to diagnosis the issue. The canopy interacts with the elements in a very complex way. Improper pruning will change the way the tree interacts with the wind and can cause additional limb loss, decay and structural failure. You don't want a significant part of your tree to fail because it was improperly pruned. We see this very often and it is a shame. Topping is not an acceptable practice.  There are also many other practices common in our area that leave the tree in poor shape.

Stump Grinding

We are equipped with a Vermeer stump grinder that is easy to squeeze in tighter areas.  We even handle submitting the Miss Dig Ticket to ensure we do not disturb any underground utilities.

Professional Arborist Consultation
Call Christian for a professional arborist consultation. He can come out and look at just one tree that you see an issue with, or he can take a walk with you and explain how to best care for all of your trees, shrubs and plants. He can do structural assessments of the trees, soil assessments, plant and pest I.D., advice on plant health care and many other services.

Tree Installation and Establishment
What appears to be one of the simplest things to do is actually so easy to do wrong that more than half the trees we see planted end up dying within 5 years. Ironically it takes a tree 5 years to establish itself in a new location. So if your planted tree does not survive that first 5 years, it was most likely due to poor planning and care during the planting phase. Installing a tree starts for us when the tree is removed from its original location, not when it is delivered off of a truck or picked up from a nursery.

Seasoned Dry Hardwood Firewood
Split stacked and dried by hand for a great hot flame. Sold by the half cord or by the full cord. Mixed hardwoods, solid oak, solid cherry, and various other species. Give us a call and we will deliver.

Our aim is to keep balance in the ecosystem in order to reduce disease and death, while maintaining vigor and growth. Whether this means treating a sick tree or removing it, we'll help you keep your property beautiful and healthy.

Structural Tree Inspection

This is something that only an arborist trained specifically in structural tree analysis is capable of doing. Anything else is simply a guess, a liability, or false information leaving you as the tree owner in a bad state.  Ask us about Tree Risk Assessments and Amenity Value Reports. We can even do inspections via an aerial drone.

Services

At C & A Arborists, we offer a wide range of tree services administered by trained arborists. We provide proper tree removal, tree treatments and more based on years of extensive experience. Our services include:

Professional Tree Consultation

Tree Removal
It seems there are a lot of bucket truck and chipper operator owner companies doing tree work.  Anybody can own and operate a bucket and chipper, but removing trees in a safe and efficient manner is what makes us professional. We use modern, low impact equipment.  We regularly attend professional conferences.  Trust us to get your trees done right the first time!

Cabling and Bracing
This aspect of tree care has been changing very rapidly and is still under constant change. The old method of using steel cable is not always what will work for the tree. Although steel is still used, there are many different materials now on the market that let the tree move more freely if needed. I have been doing a lot of work with different materials and adapting the installation techniques to suit the specific host plant. Close to the lake with the high winds we have it is important to let the trees flex their canopies in the wind.

Plant Health Care

And if we find a disease or pest we have a Plant Healthcare Technician on staff to apply treatments.  Ask us about root zone injections.

Our Services

Site Preservation / Construction Management
If you are building or adding on, a call to your local arborist before getting your excavator in will save you a lot of headache, a lot of money and lost trees in the long run. It will also save you having to remove dead trees next to your new addition. This is something we do a lot of and it is a shame to see trees die that could have been saved, or removed for half the price prior to construction.
